The Township of Madoc enforces provisions such as dog owners’ responsibilities, licensing, dangerous dogs and kennels.
All dog owners require an up-to-date Dog Tag for each dog (maximum of 3 dogs kept at a property at any time) by March 31st. Dog tags may be purchased during regular business hours (Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm and Friday 8:00am to 12:00pm) at the Municipal Office (15651 Hwy 62, Eldorado, ON K0K 1Y0).
Failure to license a dog may result in a fine of $40.00
The renewal of existing Kennel Licenses cannot be completed until all conditions in By-law No. 1706-2024 have been met, including a Kennel Inspection. Contact the municipal office to arrange your Kennel Inspection.
Failure to renew an existing Kennel License by the deadline may result in the cancellation of the license.

The Madoc Township has a livestock loss evaluator who assesses livestock deaths or injuries, often related to predatory attacks or other causes. They examine the site, review evidence, and document findings to verify whether the loss is eligible under provincial compensation programs.
If you have had a recent livestock loss please reach out to Chris Eaves 613-885-3081
