Animal Ordinances 

Animal Control enforces city, county, and state ordinances. They investigate nuisance situations and ensure humane treatment of animals. Officers patrol the streets to enforce animal control laws, impound stray, injured, abandoned, trapped, and diseased animals

Respond to complaints about animals and provide animal registration (with current rabies certificate).

Animal Control staff can visit your school or group for an informational presentation on responsible pet care and the responsibilities of their job.

City of Fernley Ordinance Title 6 Animals Sec. 6.05(a) Prohibited acts and conditions Noisy animals. It is unlawful for any person to keep, harbor, or own any animal which, by loud and frequent barking, yelping, or other noise, constitutes a nuisance as defined in NRS 40.140.

It is unlawful to take up or feed estray or feral livestock per NRS 569.040
