ZONING & LAND USE REQUESTS

Zoning rules help guide how land and buildings can be used in the Township of Schreiber. This page explains how to check zoning, request planning information, and apply for planning approvals such as minor variances, severances, or zoning amendments.

ZONING MAPS & LAND USE SCHEDULES

  • Zoning Maps show what is permitted right now
  • Land Use Schedules show what is planned over time

Both should be reviewed before submitting a zoning or land use request.

If there is uncertainty or conflict between maps, Township staff can help interpret the applicable policies.

Zoning maps show how land within the Township is divided into zoning categories and identify where specific zoning rules apply.

Use zoning maps to:

  • Find the zoning of a property
  • Identify zoning boundaries
  • Understand where certain land uses are permitted

📄 Zoning maps are part of the Township’s Zoning By-law.

Land use schedules provide additional detail and context to zoning maps and are attached to the Zoning By-law and Official Plan.

Land use schedules show:

  • Intended land uses (residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, etc.)
  • Long-term planning designations
  • Special areas or planning considerations

📘 Land use schedules help explain how areas are intended to develop over time.
