By-Law Enforcement

The Town of Grand Valley employs a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer, tasked with responding to non-emergency calls regarding by-law infractions. Depending on the nature of the complaint, the Dufferin OPP detachment may also assist with managing the problem.

Complaint Process

Residents may submit a by-law complaint by completing and submitting a complaint form to the Town of Grand Valley office in person, by email to bhaines@townofgrandvalley.ca or by fax to 519-928-2275. For after-hours emergencies, please call 911.

Proactive Enforcement

The Town of Grand Valley is committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and attractive community for all residents. Through the Town’s By-law Enforcement Policy, staff respond to complaints and, where authorized, conduct proactive enforcement of certain by-laws. The Town’s Clean Yards By-law is enforced proactively, allowing staff to identify and address property maintenance concerns such as excessive weeds, debris, refuse, and other conditions that may negatively impact neighbouring properties or the community. Property owners are encouraged to maintain their properties in accordance with the by-law to help keep Grand Valley a welcoming place to live, work, and visit.
