Tax Billing and Notices

We send out tax bills twice per year sent through regular mailing addresses on file unless you have signed up for email billing.

The interim bill is mailed out during the first week of March and payments are due on the last business day of March and June.
The final tax bill is mailed out the first week of September and payments are due on the last business day of September and November.

Please note that failure to receive a tax bill does not excuse a taxpayer from the responsibility for the payment. It also does not relieve them of liability for penalty on late payment.

Payment Options

Pay in-person - Cheque, Cash, Debit during Office hours

There is also a secure drop box for post-dated cheques and cash beside the front door of the Municipal Office.

Mail in a cheque

Online/Telephone banking - Payee name is "Municipality of West Elgin Taxes" and the account number is the roll number.

Land Assessments

To view information about your property assessment, visit the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC).

Requesting a Tax Certificate

To request a tax certificate, submit a tax certificate request in writing by emailing taxcollector@westelgin.net or mail to the office.
